What killed Lang?
There are easy labels: Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, Survivor's Guilt, and, in the end, his
addiction to alcohol. But there is a larger issue, the one discussed in the excellent documentary
Stolen Honor: http://www.stolenhonor.com/documentary/
The Jane Fonda-John Kerry traitors stole the honor of our Vietnam Vets by spreading enemy
propaganda. They convinced big media and much of the public that our soldiers were blood-soaked
mercenaries running amok, killing babies, and committing wide-spread atrocities. Atrocities that
never happened, and in a war fought with rules that tied one hand behind our back.
Our Vietnam Vets didn't get the honor they deserved when they returned. Their honor had been
stolen. At best they were ignored and at worst the American public vilified them, something no other
generation of veterans has ever had to contend with. They deserved better.
I think these lies contributed to Lang's death. His mind was trapped in the past, back in the place
where he was valued, where America's heros honored and respected him.

We all cope with Vietnam and service to our country in different ways. One of my methods is through
an organization called the Dove Fund. Our board is composed mostly of Vietnam veterans. We help the
people of Vietnam by building schools, water projects, funding scholarships, medical clinics and micro
finance projects for poor women in Quang Tri province.
I thought this was a great way for Vietnam Veterans to do something Positive
with they're Experiences in Vietnam.
